JEE MAIN 2019 online mock test for Paper I and Paper II released:

On September 14, 2018, National Testing Agency (NTA) has started conducting online mock tests for JEE Main 2019 Exam for both Paper I and Paper II in its official website www.nta.ac.in. This year onwards, JEE Main will be conducted in online mode ie., computer-based mode entirely. So candidates are advised to practice JEE Main 2019 mock test to get familiar with the online format of the JEE Main 2019 exam. JEE Main 2019 Registration Starts from September 1:

National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the schedule for JEE Main 2019 Exam. From 2019, JEE Main will be conducted twice a year and it has been announced that JEE Main I will be conducted in January 2019and JEE Main II will be conducted in April. The online application registration for JEE Main I will begin on September 1, 2018. The last date for submitting JEE Main I Application Form is September 30, 2018. The admit cards for successfully registered candidates will be available for download from December 17, 2018. The JEE Main I 2019 examination will be conducted in multiple sessions from January 6 to January 20, 2019 across various centers in the country. The JEE Main I 2019 result will be declared on January 31, 2019.

JEE Main 2019 Exam in Online Mode; Only Drawing Paper to be Offline:

From January 2019 onwards the JEE Main exam will be conducted in online mode. Earlier, JEE Main exam aspirants had the option to select pen-paper mode or computer-based (online) mode to select as their preferred mode of exam. However, from 2019 all students who apply for JEE Main exam will have to appear for the computer-based exam.  Paper I conducted for B.Tech./ B.E., will be entirely computer-based. But Paper II conducted for B.Arch./B.Planning will partially be in pen-paper mode. JEE Main 2019 Paper II comprises of three parts. Of which Part I is Mathematics and Part II is Aptitude Test, both of which will be in computer-based mode. Part III is Drawing Test which shall be conducted in offline mode and students would be required to attempt the questions on a drawing sheet. 

JEE Main 2019 Exam Dates Announced For January and April Exams:

From 2019, JEE Main exam will be conducted twice a year, by an agency named "National Testing Agency or NTA". NTA will also conduct NEET, UGC NET, CMAT and GPAT. So far, Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main has been held by CBSE on behalf of Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry. NTA recently announced the Exam dates of JEE Main 2019 which is to be held in January and April months. Students can appear both the times in JEE Main and the best of the two scores would be taken in account for admission. There will be no change in JEE Main 2019 Syllabus, marking scheme, language and examination/application fee. JEE Mains to be held again by NTA in December 2018:

The National Testing Agency (NTA) might conduct the JEE/NEET 2018 exams again during the month of December, 2018. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur was given the responsibility of setting up an agency NTA and begin the hiring of subject experts. This agency is came to be known as the National Testing Agency (NTA). The role of NTA, according to information on its official website is- ‘To…conduct NEET and JEE next year i.e., 2018, the entrance exams that were so far conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). After the formation of NTA, JEE will be conducted twice a year.’ So this will be the great opportunity for students those who failed in JEE Mains 2018 first time Examination. NTA will conduct the first tests from December 2018, for the academic year of 2019.

National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHM) is conducting Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for B.Sc in HA admission. Candidates will be able to download the NCHM JEE 2018 admit card from April 20 (5 PM onwards) to April 28, 2018.

JEE Main 2018 Result will be announced on April 30, 2018:

CBSE recently announced that the result for JEE Main 2018 exam will be announced on April 30, 2018, on the official result portal www.results.nic.in. The top 2,24,000 students who qualify in the JEE Main 2018, will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2018 examination. JEE Advanced 2018 exam will be conducted on May 20, 2018. The online registration for JEE Advanced 2018 exam will begin on May 2, 2018.

JEE Main 2018 Answer Key Will be Available on April 24:

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) held the JEE Main 2018 offline mode examination at different centres located in 112 cities throughout the country and abroad on April 8, 2018. JEE Main 2018 Online examination is scheduled to be held on April 15 and 16. Then, the CBSE board will release the JEE Main 2018 official answer keys on April 24 or after and the candidates will be given chance to raise objects till April 27. The JEE Main 2018 answer keys will be available on the website www.jeemain.nic.in and the direct official link for checking JEE Main 2018 Official Answer Keys will be immediately updated in this page.

The candidates appeared in this JEE Main 2018 Offline/Online Exam may challenge the official Answer keys by filling online application form and paying a sum of Rs.1000 per question. The JEE Main 2018 answer key challenge will be acceptedonline only through the link available on the website www.jeemain.nic.in up to 11.59 PM on April 27, 2018 on payment of Rs.1000/- per question.
 

JEE Mains May Be Conducted Twice A Year From 2018:

With the introduction of National Testing Agency (NTA), Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) - national level engineering entrance exam - might be conducted twice a year to give an opportunity to the students to bring out their best performance, Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development (HRD) Upendra Kushwaha informed Lok Sabha, on December 18, 2017. Currently both the NEET and JEE exams - along with several other exams- are organised by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). From 2018, NTA will conduct those entrance exams.

JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) Main 2018 Application has  been started from 1st December, 2017. JEE aspirants, can start registering for the JEE MAIN 2018 exam scheduled to be held on 8th April 2018 (paper based Exam) and 15th, 16th April 2018 (computer based Exam). About Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) :

Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main is the national level undergraduate engineering entrance exam conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education for admission to BTech/BE programmes in 33 NITs and 18 IIITs. It also acts as the first stage or preliminary exam for admission to 23 IITs including ISM Dhanbad.  A total of 1186454 candidates applied for Paper I examination. The result and JEE main cutoff have been declared and the candidates can know if they are amongst the 2,20,000 top candidates of JEE Main who are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.  JEE Main 2017 result for paper 1 was announced on April 27. The JEE Main Official Answer Key 2017 will be available from April 18 along with the recorded responses of the candidates.

JEE Main Application Details

  • Candidates are advised to register in the official link which is provided above.
  • After Registration, they have to fill their personal, educational and communication details.
  • The last step of filling the application form, candidates have to pay the application fee online.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates (General Category) who are 25 years or less on October 1 of the admission year are eligible to appear in JEE Main. 
  • However, in case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PwD candidates with 30 years of age on or after October 1 of the admission year are eligible to apply for JEE Main.
  • Only those candidates, who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in the preceding year of the admission and a year before the preceding year or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in the same admission year of JEE Main are eligible to appear in the engineering entrance test. 
  • The number of attempts, which a candidate can avail at JEE Main shall be limited to three.

New Eligibility Criteria of JEE Main

  • Candidates who are in possession of Aadhaar shall enter Aadhaar number, name, date of birth & gender in the online application for JEE Main for the purpose of his/her identity and authentication.

Aadhaar Card Enrolment Centres:

In order to facilitate such applicants who are not having Aadhaar, the CBSE has specially set up facilitation centres in each city of examination for the purpose of Aadhaar enrolment. The applicants can approach such facilitation centres who will not charge any amount from any applicant for Aadhaar enrolment. These applicants who have enrolled for Aadhaar and have not received Aadhaar should enter 28 digits Aadhaar Enrolment ID printed on the Aadhaar enrolment slip at the time of filling online application form for JEE Main.

Aadhaar Enrolment Registration Number -In case Aadhaar enrolment facility is not available at the facilitation centres, the applicants should submit a request for Aadhaar enrolment. The facilitation centre will issue a registration number to such applicants. This registration number should be entered by the applicants at the time of filling online application form for JEE Main.

Provision for J&K, Meghalaya and Assam applicants   : The applicants who have passed or appearing in Class XII examination from the states of J&K, Assam & Meghalaya need to enter the passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid Govt. identity number provided they should select the city of examination in these states only.
  • The CBSE officials instructed all Indian candidates should possess Aadhaar card issued by UIDAI. The new eligibility criteria of JEE Main introduced by the exam authority means that applicants will not be able to submit online applications without filling their Aadhar numbers. In case, the applicants do not hold Aadhaar numbers then they will be required to get it first, to apply for the entrance exam.
  • At the time of filling application form of JEE Main, the candidates are required to enter their Aadhaar number, name, date of birth & gender which will be validated with the UIDAI’s data.Candidates should have Aadhaar Card issued by UIDAI, which must enlist the details like candidate's name, date of birth & gender and Aadhaar number, in order to fill the JEE Main application form.

  • The applicants must ensure that the details provided in the Aadhaar card need to match with that of their school records.
  • In case, the candidates' details in both, the school records and Aadhaar card do not match, then the candidates will get it rectified in either of them.
  • Applicants entitled to Aadhaar Card under "Section 3" of Aadhaar Act are required to register for their Aadhaar card. For this, they may visit Aadhaar Enrollment Centre located in the nearby area.

JEE Main Counselling Details

  • JEE Main Counselling & Seat Allotment is conducted by the JOSAA.
  • Candidates have to register themselves online to fill their choices of branch and institute.
  • Candidates must be very careful while filling their choices as the seats to a candidate will be allocated according to the order of choices filled by the candidate.
  • After filling their choices for counselling, candidates must lock their choices with utmost care and before the specified deadline.
  • Seat Allocation of a candidate is done on the basis of his/her All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Main and the choices filled in by the candidate during the Counselling Procedure.
  • Seat Allotment for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs will be done in the four rounds of Counselling.

JEE Main Rank List 

  • The rank list of JEE Main 2017 has been released by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) on April 27 along with the result. 
  • The All India Ranks of the applicants will be announced through the rank list. 
  • The normalised scores of the 12th standard examination will not be counted anymore for the decision of the ranking. 
  • The JEE Main Rank List 2017 will display the All India rank of the candidate along with the All India Category rank. 
  • The All India Rank will be used by JoSAA for admissions while the other ranks are for information only.

JEE Main Participating Institutes

  • JEE Main 2017 is a gateway for applicants into the various prestigious engineering institutes of India.
  • The participating Institutes of JEE Main 2017 include 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 23 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and 20 Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs).
  • Some of the states like Haryana, Nagaland, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha also offer admissions to undergraduate engineering aspirants in their respective colleges on the basis of JEE Main 2017 scores.
  • Some of the reputed private engineering colleges also offer admission based on the JEE scores.

JEE Main Counselling

  • The counselling of JEE Main 2017 is jointly done by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2017.
  • JoSAA 2017 registration for JEE Main 2017 counselling and seat allotment will begin from June 15, while the entire process of counselling and seat allocation will be held in 7 rounds till July 19, 2017.
  • Candidates who have qualified in JEE Main 2017 will be able to participate in the counselling.
  • JEE Main qualified candidates have to register themselves and select their preferred college and course. Online allocation of seats will be done based on the applicants' All India Rank in JEE Main 2017, category, availability of seats and other factors. After the seat allocation is done, the candidates have to report at their allotted institute for document verification and fee payment. 

JEE Main Exam Pattern 

  • JEE Main 2017 was held in offline mode on April 2, 2017, and in online mode on April 8 and April 9, 2017.
  • The examination paper was divided into two parts – Paper I (B.E./B.Tech) and Paper II (B.Arch and B.Planning).
  • Paper II of JEE Main 2017 was conducted only in offline mode.
