JEE Main 2020: Joint Entrance Examination also commonly known as JEE Main is a national level engineering entrance exam which acts as a gateway for admission to engineering colleges in India like IITs, NITs, GFTIs, etc. Also JEE Main is a qualifying exam for JEE Advanced admissions to around 11279 seats in 23 IITs. NTA is responsible to conduct JEE Main from the year of 2019 onwards. Previously, the JEE Main exam was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018. JEE Main 2020 will be held for 2 papers where paper 1 is for B.Tech admissions and Paper 2 is for B.Arch/B.Planningadmissions. NTA will conduct JEE Main exam twice a year ie., first exam in the month of January and the second exam in the month of April. Candidates can appear for the exam both the times and NTA will consider the best score to provide All India Rank.

The JEE Main 2020 exam will be conducted in Online mode that is Computer Based Test (CBT). Candidates who have passed 10+2 exam with Maths & Physics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biology are eligible to appear for this exam. Those candidates who meet the JEE Main Eligibility criteria can fill up the JEE Main 2020 application form tentatively from 1st September 2019. The JEE Main application form will be made available only online at the official website of jeemain.nic.in.

Last year around 929198 candidates appeared for JEE Main Paper 1 exam and 180052 candidates appeared for Paper 2 exam in the first attempt. JEE Main 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to appear for JEE Main 2020 exam must meet the JEE Main eligibility criteria specified by the authorities of JEE Main. Those candidates who satisfy all the eligibility criteria stipulated by officials will only be able to appear for the JEE Main 2020 exam. The JEE Main 2020 eligibility criteria are listed below:

1.Age:

a. There is no age limit for the candidate.
b. The candidates should satisfy themselves about the eligibility of age limit requirements of the Institutes in which they desire to take admission.

2.Year of Appearance in Qualifying Exam (QE)

a. Candidates who have cleared their class 12 exams in 2018, 2019 are eligible.
b. Candidates who are going to appear for class 12 board exams in 2020 can also apply.
c. Those candidates who cleared the class 12 exam in 2017 or before 2017 are not eligible to appear for JEE Main 2020 exam.

3.Educational Qualification

a. Candidates must have at least 5 subjects in class 12 exam or equivalent exam.
b. Candidates who have passed 10+2 exam with Maths & Physics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biology are eligible.

Reservation Criteria For JEE Main 2020

JEE Main Application Form 2020

JEE Main 2020 Application form will be released only in online mode at the official website of jeemain.nic.in. Candidates who are planning to appear for JEE Main Exam January attempt can start filling the JEE Main Application Form 2020 from the first week of September 2019 and candidates must fill out the application form within last of September. Those candidates who fail to fill out the application form for January attempt can also fill up the JEE Main 2020 Application form for April attempt from the first week of February 2020. Candidates must fill up the application form within the last week of February 2020 in order appear for the exam.

JEE Main 2020 Online Registration Steps

The steps to fill out the JEE Main Application form 2020 is listed below:

Step 1: Registration

a. Visit the official website of JEE Main: jeemain.nic.in.
b. Now click on the button “New Registration”
c. Enter the details.
d. Click on submit.
e. You will receive the system generated application form through email/SMS.
f. Note down this system generated application form safely for further purpose.

Step 2: personal and academic details

a. Now login with the help of your System Generated Application Form.
b. Enter all the necessary details.
c. Click on “Proceed to next”

Step 3: Uploading of image and signature

a. Now upload scanned images of Candidate’s Photograph between 10 kb–200 kb in JPG/JPEG format.
b. Upload the image of the candidate’s signature between 4kb – 30 kb in JPG/JPEG format.

Step 4: Fee payment

a. Now process the fee payment.
b. Make payment of fee using SBI_MOPS and keep proof of fee paid.

Step 5: Confirmation page printout

Now at least take four print out of Confirmation Page after successful remittance of fee.

JEE Main Exam Centre 2020

NTA will release JEE Main 2020 exam centres where the JEE Main exam will be conducted. NTA will release a list of 264 examination centres among India and other foreign countries where the JEE Examination will be conducted. While filling up the JEE Main 2020 Application form, candidates will have a choice to choose 4 exam centres. After submitting the application form, the officials will allocate an exam centre among the four exam centres. Candidates will be able to take their JEE Main exam the exam centres as mentioned in the JEE Main 2020 Admit Card. Aspirants cannot change their JEE Main 2020 exam centre once it is allocated.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2020

The JEE Main 2020 consists of two papers viz., Paper-I & Paper-II. Paper I is for B.E/B.tech admissions which will be conducted in online mode. Paper II consists of 3 parts: part 1 – Mathematics, part 2 – Aptitude test and part 3 – drawing test. The part 1 & part 2 will be held in online mode and drawing test will be held in offline mode. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. For every correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded and for every incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted.

JEE Main Syllabus 2020

The officials of NTA will release JEE Main 2020 Syllabus along with the JEE Main brochure for both the papers. The JEE Main syllabus is almost the same as the NCERT syllabus for class 11 and class 12. The JEE Main 2020 Syllabus for paper 1 covers 3 main sections such as Physics, Chemistry, Maths. Whereas paper 2 consists of 2 parts and the detailed syllabus for both part 1 & part 2 will be listed by NTA.

JEE Main Admit Card 2020

The JEE Main 2020 Admit Card will be released only in online at the official website of Jeemain.nic.in. The JEE Main admit card for the first attempt will be in the month of January 2020 and for the second attempt, it will be released in the month of April 2019. Candidates who filled out the JEE Main 2020 application form, can visit the official website and download their JEE Main hall ticket. In order to download JEE Main hall ticket, candidates must have their application number and security pin/date of birth.

It is to be noted that the JEE Main 2020 admit card will not be sent by the means of post. Candidates must not mutilate the JEE Main 2020 hall ticket at any case. Students are also advised to keep their JEE Main online admit card in good condition for further reference.

JEE Main Exam Day Guidelines 2020

The exam day guidelines for JEE Main 2020 aspirants are listed below:

a) Candidates must carry the following documents to the exam hall and those candidates who does not bring the specified documents to the exam hall will not be allowed to the examination hall. The list of documents to be carried are:

Photocopy of JEE Main 2020 Admit Card.
1 Passport size photograph which is uploaded in the JEE Main 2020 Application form.
Candidates must bring any one of the following original documents which are valid:

a. PAN card
b. Driving License
c. Voter ID
d. Passport
e. Aadhaar Card (With photograph)
f. Aadhaar Enrolment No
g. Ration Card PwD certificate issued by the Competent Authority, if claiming the relaxation under PwD category

b) Candidates must report to their allotted exam centre at least 2 hours before the examination in order to complete their registration formalities. Candidates will not be allowed to exam centre after 8:30 AM in the first shift and after 1:30 PM in the second shift.

c) No candidate will be allowed to the exam hall without the JEE Main hall ticket 2020.

d) After entering the exam, candidates must find the seat where their roll number is written. Candidates must take their seat where their roll number is written.

e) After the exam starts, the candidate must ensure that the subject of the question paper displayed on the screen is as per his/her opted paper. If the question paper is different, then candidate must immediately report to the invigilator.

JEE Main Answer Key 2020

The officials of NTA will release the provisional JEE Main 2020 answer key. Candidates can visit the official website and download their provisional JEE Main 2020 Answer key. Those candidates who are not satisfied with the provisional answer key can also raise their objections against the officials. The authorities will consider the objections raised by the candidates and evaluate the answer key and release the Final JEE Main 2020 answer key. Apart from NTA various other education websites like Embibe, Resonance, Allen Kota will also release the Answer keys where students can evaluate their responses and calculate their probable scores.

Highlights of JEE Main 2020 Answer Key

NTA will release two types of Answer Key Viz., Provisional JEE Main Answer Key & Final JEE Main Answer Key.
Candidates must pay Rs.1000/- for each question they challenge.
Candidates must submit valid proof while raising objections.
No candidate will be able to challenge the answer key after the release of final answer key.

JEE Main Result 2020

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be announcing the JEE Main result 2020. The NTA JEE Main Paper 1 & paper 2 result will be declared online mode on the official website of JEE Main: jeemain.nic.in. To check result of JEE Main 2020, candidates need to login to the JEE Main result portal with their application number and date of birth. Candidates can also download JEE Main scorecard after checking their result. JEE Main result 2020 will have the normalized scores of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and total marks secured by the candidates along with their rank. Moreover, JEE Main result 2020 will have the qualifying status for appearing in JEE Advanced. The JEE Main result 2020 will also contains the score obtained by candidates in first attempt held in January and the second in April. JEE Main Score Card 2020

Along with JEE Main 2020 Result, the officials will also release the JEE Main 2020 scorecard. The scorecard contains the details like candidates name, registration number, date of birth etc., Also JEE Main scorecard will also display the NTA scores obtained for each subject. The AIR will be declared after the publication of JEE Main April Result. The officials will consider the highest rank for the candidates who have appeared in both attempts i.e., January & April session.

JEE Main Cut Off 2020

The JEE Main 2020 cutoff will be released by the officials of NTA to get admission in engineering colleges that accept JEE Main score. The JEE Main cutoff will also act as a qualifying score to appear for JEE Advanced exam as well. JEE Main cutoff will vary from one category to another category.

JEE Mains Merit List Normalization

It is clear that JEE Main Exam will be conducted into various sessions. The difficulty level of the exam will also variate. To solve this problem, the candidate’s score will be normalized and converted into percentile based on the NTA Marking Scheme. This was done in JEE Main January as well it will be done in April exams too. The final merit list will be compiled based on the best of two NTA normalized scores secured by a candidate (if the candidate has appeared for the exam both the times).

In case two or more candidates secure the same NTA score, the rank will be determined considering the NTA score of the respective subjects and age in the following order:

NTA score of actual marks secured by the candidate in Mathematics
NTA score of actual marks secured by the candidate in Physics
NTA score of actual marks secured by the candidate in Chemistry
Candidates older in age.
Even after this criterion if the tie is not broken, candidates will be given the same rank.

JEE Main Counselling & Seat Allotment 2020

JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) is responsible to conduct JEE Main 2020 counselling and seat allotment. Those candidates who wish to participate in JEE Main 2020 counselling must register themselves online to JoSAA. The JEE Main 2020 counselling and seat allotment process will commence tentatively from the 2nd week of June. The JEE Main counselling and seat allotment will be completely based on the candidate’s merit, preference of choices and availability of seats. The authorities of JoSAA initially allocate the seats in 2 mock rounds. With the help of mock rounds, candidates will be able to identify the process of counselling and seat allotment. Once the mock rounds are completed, candidates can participate in seat allotment process.
The seat allotment process namely consists of seven rounds.

The officials of JoSAA will publish a list of participating institutes. Candidates can check the list of JEE Main 2020 participating institutes which will offer admission based on their marks in JEE Main exam.
