Former chief minister of Puducherry and DMK leader RV Janakiraman passed away in Puducherry at the age of 79.

Space tourism could start from 2020: NASA
•    NASA is opening the International Space Station (ISS) to adventurous tourists.
•    As per NASA, space tourism could happen as soon as 2020 for USD 59 Million per person.
•    Private research, product testing and commercial ventures will also take place at ISS.
•    NASA will organise only two space tourism trips per year and not more than 5% of ISS resources will be used by commercial tourists.
Former Puducherry CM RV Janakiraman dies
•    Former chief minister of Puducherry and DMK leader RV Janakiraman passed away in Puducherry at the age of 79.
•    He was suffering age-related issues and undergoing with treatment at a private hospital.
•    He was elected from Nellithope assembly constituency and served from May 26, 1996, to March 18, 2000.
•    Apart from this, he was the leader of the opposition from May 2001 to March 2006.
BCCI announced U-19 team for tri-series in England
•    BCCI's selection committee announced 18-member Under-19 team for the one-day Tri-series in England.
•    This series is starting on July 21, 2019. Uttar Pradesh’s batsman Priyam Garg has been selected as the captain.
•    India will play against the U-19 sides of England and Bangladesh in the tournament.
•    18 member team is - Priyam Garg (capt), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Thakur Tilak Verma, Divyansh Saxena, Shaswat Rawat, Dhruv Chand Jurel (wk), Shubhang Hegde, Ravi Bishnoi, Vidyadhar Patil, Sushant Mishra, Rasik Salam, Sameer Rizvi, Pragnesh Kanpillewar, Kamran Iqbal, Priyesh Patel (wk), Karan Lal, Purnank Tyagi, Anshul Khamboj.
Rafael Nadal wins French Open 2019
•    Rafael Nadal wins French Open 2019 to become the first person to win 12 titles at a single event.
•    Nadal beats Dominic Thiem 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 to win the Roland Garros title.
•    Dominic Thiem has to settle, for the second straight year, for the title of a runner-up.
•    It is also known as Roland Garros title and Rafael Nadal is famous as king of clay.
Nashik Police formed ‘Nirbhaya Squad’
•    To check incidents of eve-teasing and harassment of women Nashik police in Maharashtra have set up a 'Nirbhaya squad'.
•    This 10-member squad is comprising both men and women security personnel. It was launched by State Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan.
•    To ensure safety and security of women this squad will maintain a strict vigil in crowded areas like bus stands, railway stations and malls.
•    The squad has been named after brave girl "Nirbhaya", who was gang raped in New Delhi on the night of December 16, 2012.
